Kenneth K. Martinez Burgmaier has been a filmmaker, director and producer for nearly twenty years. He is the creator, director and host of the Award winning TV Series, “Jazz Alley TV,” seen in over 80 countries. “ Jazz Alley TV” is the longest running World Music, Jazz & Blues TV series. It has won the Billboard Music Awards twice and was named the “2005 Event of the Year – for perpetuating Hawaiian Music and film for fifteen years” by the Hawai’i Music Awards.
Burgmaier is also the director of over twenty award winning Hawaiian Film subject documentaries and films including “Ki Ho Alu-Keola Beamer”, “Wa’a Ho’olaule’a” (Festival Of Canoes), “33rd Ukulele Festival” nominated for an EMMY, “Hamakua Music Fest” “John Keawe-Music with an Island Touch”, “Maui Slack Key Festival” ,Frank DeLima 30 Years of Laughter and “Ka Leo Hano Awards.” “Ki ho’Alu-Keola Beamer”, has won eleven Awards in the Film Festival circuit and has recently been picked up for distribution for National PBS through the Pacific Islanders in Communications. “Wa'a Ho’olaule’a (Festival of Canoes)” has won seven awards at film festivals and has also received TV Film industry recognition. His recent film projects include “One Man, One Voice,” on Kris Kristofferson, “30 Years of Laughter,” about Hawaii’s King of Comedy-Frank DeLima, “BEBOP TO HIP HOP,” and “A tribute To Kansas City Jazz.”
His films he has worked in as a Director, Producer or Executive Producer, include: “Quattro Noza”, “Streets of Legend”, “Brother Tied”, “European Jazz Passport”, and “Jazz Colony” (Hosted by Michael Douglas) have premiered and won at Sundance and other film festivals. ‘’Quattro Noza” won the 2003 Sundance Best Cinematography award and was recently purchased by Lions Gate Films. “Brother Tied,” which premiered at Sundance in 1998, has won at six Film Festivals worldwide. Burgmaier is also a Director of Photography and experienced Scuba Diver and has been filming underwater around the world which has aired in 100’s of documentaries and TV Specials.
Traveling around the Globe, Burgmaier has directed and produced a vast number of documentaries and film projects in over 30 countries. He has worked with over 300 musicians on video/film projects for several Major Record Companies and artists, including Santana, Herbie Hancock, the Neville Brothers, Bonnie Raitt, Pat Metheny, Bob James, Terrence Blanchard, Dr. John, Lionel Hampton, Quincy Jones, Wynton Marsalis, Gerry Mulligan, Roy Haynes, Joe Lovano, BB King, Dave Brubeck, Michael McDonald, Lionel Ritchie, Roberta Flack, Tito Puente, Herbie Mann, Steve Allen, David Sanborn, Joe Sample, Hiroshima, Keiko Matsui, Shaggy, Maxi Priest, Third World, James Taylor, Bela Fleck, Oscar Peterson and Kris Kristofferson and 100s’ more.. His mission to promulgate Jazz, Blues and World music is further accomplished through his personal documentation of Jazz and music festivals in the Caribbean, Asia, Europe, and America.

Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz Competition, International Jazz Hall of Fame, National Smooth Jazz Awards. He is an active Director of Photography on select projects.
Residing in Maui, Hawaii, Burgmaier continues to promote music, films, and culture. In 2002, he founded “MauiFEST Hawai'i-A celebration of music, arts, culture and film,” an annual film and music festival series held in Hana, Molokai, Lahaina and Kahului. He has also revived the drive-in movie theater in Maui, thereby enriching the lives of families through film and Aloha. Kenneth Burgmaier is a member of the National Academy and a voting member of both the Grammy’s, Hawaii Academy of Recording Arts. And a member of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
An active member with the Maui Trailer Boat Club, Lahaina and Waikiki Yacht Clubs, Paddler with the Lau Ula O Kai and Hana Canoe Clubs. PADI certified Diver and underwater photographer since 1982.
