MauiFEST Hawaii Drive in

DRIVE-IN SCREEN GOES UP AGAIN. Ken Martinez Burgmaier of MauiFest Hawaii added a coat of paint to the front of the drive-in movie screen at Maui Community College on Wednesday, while carpenters Andy Dollar (in lift) and Joe Alexander mapped out a strategy for reinforcing the back. They were preparing for a Saturday night showing of a selection of locally produced movies at the drive-in along Wahinepio Avenue. The schedule includes the Maui premiere of "Ho’okipa," "Surfing for Life," "Rolling Down Like Pele" and "Blood of the Samurai."

Gates open at 6:30 p.m. Admission is $20 per vehicle.
